We worked on EW, ICK, and IGHT this week.
We also had great temperatures in the high 60’s all week which means we spent lots of time outside.
We also studied constellations and drew our own Orion.
This finished up the last full week of February for us and it was a fun one.
This week along with our usual word families and math practice, we studied the brown bear! We watched a video about brown bears as we drew our own. We also practiced tying our shoes this week.
The girls also decided to have a Not-on-Valentine’s day-Valentine’s day party. They set up the front school room for the occasion.
Truly a beautiful thing to do math work from the couch.
Or on the floor with your sister
More Word Families… including “EN” this week.
And a little home made project during free time… A makeshift computer just like daddy’s (two screens) where she could play Minecraft while Skyping with grandma (who is also playing Minecraft).
Weeks 10 and 11 were situated after Thanksgiving and during St Nicholas Day and a birthday. We finished S, T, and U in our MLB and continued to practice recognizing lowercase letters between all the celebrations.
We drew tree T pictures. It was fun to work as we watched the squirrels prepare for winter.
We played with our toys that Saint Nicholas brought us as well.
Around our birthday celebration we got lots of snow and ice. It was the perfect time to play with our new indoor toys. We got to use our new terrarium gift where we planted chia seeds.
That led us up to a week of winter break and a time to enjoy family, friends, and our new toys and activities.
In a continuation of celebrating the unusually warm weather, we took two weeks to go through week 9 in our schooling.
Short sleeve shirts at the end of November is certainly something to take advantage of.
We focused on matching lower case letters with upper case in preparation for reading.
We had a serious soldier dance party and worked with pattern blocks.
We added our personal touches to the Thanksgiving tree.
And continued to enjoy the weather and sunshine, playing with toys and various boxes the “Christmas truck” (UPS) brought us.
We ended this lesson week with a celebration of Thanksgiving with family and friends.
